WATCH Weekly Report 09-25-24

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 09-25-24 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

We are in need of an alternate for a show closing this week.  Please take a look and let me know if you’ve seen this show and can submit a ballot, or if you’d be interested in seeing it as an alternate judge.

There are also many judges I have not heard from regarding reservations for shows closing this weekend.  Please check the closing shows section and let me know ASAP about your reservation.

TIP OF THE WEEK:  For the technical elements, if you see it on stage, you should score it, regardless of whether it is listed in the playbill.  For example, if there is no Costumer Designer listed, but the actors were (hopefully) wearing clothes, you would check the “Not Listed” box, but still give Costume Designer a score.  The most overlooked elements are usually Special Effects and Combat Choreography, because theaters often forget to list these in their programs and not every show has them.  But you’d be surprised by how many missing scores we see for things like set painting or makeup as well.  So, to reiterate, if it is present in the production, score it.

******************************************
NOTE:  Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the show closes.  If you owe us a ballot, please get it in as soon as possible.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. It’s very long, and the reply will include the entire thing. Please send a new email to watchadjudication@gmail.com
  2. DO email me your reservation dates. Really, I want to know!
  3. DO search this entire report for your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.
  4. If you go see a show that you were not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate. Try to keep the playbills for all shows you see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with all ballots received. Similarly, if you see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show, please let me know.
