2020 WATCH Status Update

WATCH Judges,

I hope this finds you safe and well.

As a result of the pandemic, WATCH adjudication ceased in mid-March of this year and has not resumed.  As of now, there are a few companies planning on producing shows in the second half of this year.

Out of concern for our judges' health and safety, the Board is cancelling all remaining adjudication assignments through the end of the year.  We hope to resume adjudication in 2021, but that decision will be made by the Board later this year and will depend on the current status of the pandemic and whatever restrictions are/aren’t in place.  The Weekly Report will be on hiatus until we are ready to resume judging assignments.

On behalf of the WATCH Board, I’d like to thank you for service to the WATCH organization and I look forward to 2021.

WATCH Weekly Report 07-15-20

** WATCH Weekly Report 07-15-20 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

Below are the latest changes to theater schedules:

CPA has cancelled all productions through the end of the year
PWLT has cancelled all productions through the end of the year

For information on already announced cancellations and postponements, please refer to previous reports using the weekly report backup blog.

WATCH reps, please continue to keep me posted about any changes in your company’s schedule for the remainder of 2020.

The Community Theatre Thrives benefit for DC regional community theaters will take place this weekend, July 17th & 18th.  Participating theaters are all WATCH members, except for one that is applying for WATCH membership.  In addition to raising much needed funds for participating theaters, it will also serve to educate the public about the abilities of community theaters and their volunteers, and to allow the theater community to gain familiarity with the work of companies that they have not yet had the opportunity to experience.  The schedule and more information can be found at the website below.  And the benefit can be viewed on the website or through YouTube.

Hope everyone continues to stay safe and healthy.
