To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

Hopefully everyone got my email about changes due to COVID-19, but here is a summary update of shows that have closed early and upcoming shows that have already been cancelled/postponed:

Calendar Girls at SSI: Cancelled

Fences at BCT: Currently rescheduled for April 3 – 19

Freaky Friday at CPA: Postponed, new date TBD (originally opening 4/3)

Hand to God at DS: Postponed, new date TBD (originally opening 4/24)

Lobby Hero at SSS: Rescheduled for April 17 – 26, with Thursday performance during week 2

Moonlight and Magnolias at LTA: Closed on 3/13

Night Must Fall at FCT: Closed on 3/15

On Golden Pond at ACCT: Postponed, new date TBD (originally opening 3/20)

Picnic ay PPF: Cancelled

Sister Act at PWLT: Cancelled, hope to reschedule

The Spitfire Grill at RLT: Closed on 3/13

You’re Good Man Charlie Brown at PTP: Closed on 3/15

Of course all the rescheduled dates are tentative. 

If you have seen one of the closed shows to which you were not assigned (which can be found in the “Closed” section below), please let me know.  If you have already let me know, be assured I am keeping a running list.  I just want to have the full picture of what we need before I start requesting alternate ballots.

If you have seen an assigned show in the Closed list, please get your ballot in ASAP so I can get a clearer picture of what we need. 

And if you missed a show because it closed early, please let me know that as well.  (If you see “Missed” next to a judge’s name, it means that person has already let me know about missing the show.)

Since this is an ever-changing situation, I will continue to send weekly reports, although for a while this will be mostly a notice of change in status of shows and a missing ballot report.

Hope everyone is staying safe, with no cabin fever or theater-withdrawal.

NOTE:  Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the show closes.  If you owe us a ballot, please get it in as soon as possible.

Friendly Reminders:

1.      DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL.  It’s very long, and the reply will include the entire thing, clogging my inbox.  Please send a new email to adjudication@washingtontheater.org

2.      DO email me your reservation dates.  Really, I want to know!

3.      DO search this entire report for your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.

4.      If you go see a show that you were not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate.  Try to keep the playbills for all shows you see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with all ballots received.  Similarly, if you see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show, please let me know.

5.      If you have access to a scanner, Margaret would love to receive copies of the program for every show that you judge.  You can email this directly to her by replying to your ballot confirmation for any show.

Directions to performance space(s): From the Capital Beltway – proceed East on Route 50. Exit North on Route 3. Turn Left on Sylvan Drive at the sign for the White Marsh Recreation Area, and Left on Route 3 South, or alternatively, pass Sylvan Lane and make a U-Turn at the traffic light at Route 450 and proceed South on Route 3. Note: The turn on Sylvan Drive can be difficult if there is heavy south-bound traffic, so you are better off continuing past Sylvan Drive to the light at Route 450, where you can make a U-turn, then proceed south. Make a right turn into White Marsh Recreation Area. Proceed past the ball fields to the parking lot on the left at the end of the driveway. Follow the signs to the Bowie Playhouse.
