** WATCH
Weekly Report 06-26-19 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:
TIP
OF THE WEEK:
In the spirit of last week’s tip, please
make sure you stay for the entire performance. Sometimes things happen later in the show
that can impact your scoring, including (but not limited to) a pivotal scene
for a character or even a character that does not show up until late in the
show. Plus, it is really important to
see a character’s entire development before scoring them, not to mention that
technical elements change throughout the show.
If you have an emergency and have to leave, by all means, do. But you will be required to go back and see
the rest of the show, or find an alternate to see it before a ballot can be
submitted. And yes, the theaters are
fully aware of who the WATCH judges are, they do notice when a judge
leaves early, and they are not shy about contacting me to let me know.
*****************************************
NOTE: Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the
show closes. If you owe us a ballot,
please get it in as soon as possible.
Friendly Reminders:
1.
DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. It’s very long, and the reply will include
the entire thing, clogging my inbox.
Please send a new email to adjudication@washingtontheater.org
2.
DO email me your reservation
dates. Really, I want to know!
3.
DO search this entire report for
your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.
4.
If you go see a show that you were
not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate. Try to keep the playbills for all shows you
see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with
all ballots received. Similarly, if you
see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show,
please let me know.

Directions to performance space(s): From Points North - "How would you
get to Reagan National Airport?" That's the first question to answer. Once
you've gotten onto the GW Parkway and passed the airport on your left, continue
heading south. The Parkway becomes Washington Street as you enter the city of
Alexandria. Cross King Street and take the third left after King onto Wolfe
Street. You will find LTA on the right hand side of the street, at the corner
of Wolfe and St. Asaph streets.
From The Capital
Beltway - take the exit for Route 1 North. As you exit on the ramp, you'll
drive onto Route 1 and get in the right lane immediately. Take the first right,
onto Franklin St. At the light, make a left onto Washington Street. Pass two
lights and make a right onto Wolfe St. LTA is at the corner of Wolfe and St.
Asaph streets.
Parking - Parking
is on the street. Watch posted signs, as some areas have two hour parking
limitations and some require payment. The Capital One Bank on the corner of
Wilkes and Washington streets lets our patrons park in their lot when the bank
is closed. Please note The Capital One Bank has extended their hours to include
evening and weekend hours. Please make sure not to use their parking lot when
they are open.
There are several
garages within walking distance - one is on Washington Street, near King, and
there are several on Pitt, near King. Look for the "Public Parking"
signs.
One handicap
accessible parking space is located on St Asaph Street next to LTA’s courtyard.
