** WATCH
Weekly Report 07-18-18 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:
The board has decided that in order to protect the privacy
of our judges, we will no longer list reservation dates on the weekly
report. So starting this week, you will
just see a “reserved” notation next to your name if a reservation has been
made. However, please note that I still need you to send me the date of
your reservation as I need to track attendance for many reasons, including
being able to contact the appropriate judges about something related to a
specific performance, such as a cancellation. If you don’t want to send me a separate
email, you can just cc: me on your email ticket request to the
theater. But I do need to know that
every judge assigned to a show has a reservation and when they are going.
There was also a
concern raised about productions that include smoking, fog, strobe lights, etc.
to which some judges might have sensitivities.
Unfortunately this is not information that can be provided by WATCH for
every show. However, if you have any of
these sensitivities you are encouraged to ask about these when you make your
reservation, and if you feel you cannot judge the production based on their
presence, contact your WATCH rep and ask him or her to find you an alternate.
Also, we have had
another show cancellation. If you were assigned
by the matrix to see the October/November show at Port City Playhouse, you now
have one less assignment for the year.
Finally, did anyone not assigned to it see “Laughing Stock”
at Laurel Mill Playhouse? We are in need
of an alternate ballot for this show, so please send me an email if you can
fill one out.
*****************************************
NOTE: Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the
show closes. If you owe us a ballot,
please get it in as soon as possible.
Friendly Reminders:
1.
DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. It’s very long, and the reply will include
the entire thing, clogging my inbox.
Please send a new email to adjudication@washingtontheater.org
2.
DO email me your reservation
dates. Really, I want to know!
3.
DO search this entire report for
your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.
4.
If you go see a show that you were
not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate. Try to keep the playbills for all shows you
see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with
all ballots received. Similarly, if you
see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show,
please let me know.

Directions to performance space(s): From Points North - "How would you
get to Reagan National Airport?" That's the first question to answer. Once
you've gotten onto the GW Parkway and passed the airport on your left, continue
heading south. The Parkway becomes Washington Street as you enter the city of
Alexandria. Cross King Street and take the third left after King onto Wolfe
Street. You will find LTA on the right hand side of the street, at the corner
of Wolfe and St. Asaph streets.
From The Capital Beltway - take the exit for Route 1 North. As you exit on the ramp, you'll drive onto Route 1 and get in the right lane immediately. Take the first right, onto Franklin St. At the light, make a left onto Washington Street. Pass two lights and make a right onto Wolfe St. LTA is at the corner of Wolfe and St. Asaph streets.
Parking - Parking is on the street. Watch posted signs, as some have two hour parking limitations and there have been recent changes to parking regulations. The Capital One Bank on the corner of Wilkes and Washington streets lets our patrons park in their lot when the bank is closed. Please note The Capital One Bank has extended their hours to include evening and weekend hours. Please make sure not to use their parking lot when they are open.
There are several garages within walking distance - one is on Washington Street, near King, and there are several on Pitt, near King. Look for the "Public Parking" signs.
Handicapped parking is located on St. Asaph Street next to LTA's courtyard.
