WATCH Weekly Report 04-30-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 04-30-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

TIP OF THE WEEK: Please double check the start time of the performance you are judging on the theater’s website before making your reservation.  I double check the theater’s website to make sure the start times listed in the report are correct before it appears for the first time, but theater websites are not always up to date at the time I am checking.  Plus, the start times in the report are general and while a show might generally have a show at a specific time, they may not have a show on the date you want.  Also, please double check the time on your ticket before you head to the theater to make sure you are in sync.

******************************************
NOTE: Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the show closes.  If you owe us a ballot, please get it in as soon as possible.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. It’s very long, and the reply will include the entire thing. Please send a new email to watchadjudication@gmail.com
  2. DO email me your reservation dates. Really, I want to know!
  3. DO search this entire report for your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.
  4. If you go see a show that you were not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate. Try to keep the playbills for all shows you see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with all ballots received. Similarly, if you see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show, please let me know.

WATCH Weekly Report 04-23-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 04-23-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

TIP OF THE WEEK:  Please note the Weekly Report back up website address in the “Useful Links” section below.  I highly recommend everyone bookmark this address on whatever device you use most often right now.  We use a professional mailing service which can be quite finicky and does not always play nicely with other email servers, and I frequently hear from judges who have not been receiving these weekly reports.  Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do except suggest they check their Spam/Junk folder or provide me with an alternate email address.  But I also always point out this blog spot where I post the weekly report each week right after I send it out.  So, if you have this bookmarked ahead of time, you can refer to it any week that a report decides not to come to you.  And if you hear from anyone who has not received this report (and therefore cannot bookmark the site), please feel free to pass this info along to them.

WATCH Weekly Report 04-16-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 04-16-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

Sorry for the lateness of the hour, but I just got back from out of town, and am now scrambling to get the report out.  But if you noticed it had not yet arrived and were wondering about it, bonus points to you for tracking.

TIP OF THE WEEK:  Try to fill out your ballot right after you see the show.  I don’t close balloting for 30 days from show closing, but memories fade, and your ballot is most accurate when done as close to viewing the show as possible.  It also means I won’t have to bug you to get your ballot in.  And I won’t lie – I get an adrenaline rush when I can mark a show with “all ballots received”.

Once you've gotten onto the GW Parkway and passed the airport on your left, continue heading south. The Parkway becomes Washington Street as you enter the city of Alexandria. Cross King Street and take the third left after King onto Wolfe Street. You will find LTA on the right hand side of the street, at the corner of Wolfe and St. Asaph streets.

From The Capital Beltway - take the exit for Route 1 North. As you exit on the ramp, you'll drive onto Route 1 and get in the right lane immediately. Take the first right, onto Franklin St. At the light, make a left onto Washington Street. Pass two lights and make a right onto Wolfe St. LTA is at the corner of Wolfe and St. Asaph streets.

Parking - Parking is on the street. Watch posted signs, as some areas have two hour parking limitations and some require payment. The Capital One Bank on the corner of Wilkes and Washington streets lets our patrons park in their lot when the bank is closed. Please note The Capital One Bank has extended their hours to include evening and weekend hours. Please make sure not to use their parking lot when they are open.
There are several garages within walking distance - one is on Washington Street, near King, and there are several on Pitt, near King. Look for the "Public Parking" signs.

WATCH Weekly Report 04-09-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 04-09-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

TIP OF THE WEEK:  When completing your ballot, if you find yourself typing a plural word in the role name field (e.g. "nuns" or “orphans”) and then several names in the performer name field, PLEASE STOP!  Only give individual scores to the leads, the featured characters, and any true cameos.  The hard-working folks in the chorus should be considered in the ENSEMBLE score, but should not all receive individual scores.  In summary, one should never list a group of actors in the individual scores section.
