WATCH Weekly Report 03-26-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 03-26-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

TIP OF THE WEEK:  There is often confusion between props and set dressing.  Props are used/handled by the actors; set dressing is not.  Set dressing refers to items used to, well, dress the set – furniture, rugs, curtains, plants, anything hung on the wells, etc.  There can be some confusion because set dressing items can sometimes be picked up and become props.  Just do your best to try to distinguish what is there to be used by the actors and what is there to set the scene.

WATCH Weekly Report 03-19-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 03-19-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

Please note: The opening of “The Odd Couple” at BCT has been delayed by one week.  If you have already made a reservation, please check the new dates and update your reservation as needed.

TIP OF THE WEEK:  When you submit your ballot, it goes directly to Margaret. I never see the ballot and the only way I know that it has been submitted is when I receive the ballot confirmation that is also sent to you and your theater’s rep.  If you see your name on the report and have received a ballot confirmation, it means the email to me got lost in the ether somewhere, so please forward the confirmation to me and I will mark you as having submitted your ballot.  If you submitted but did not receive a confirmation within a couple of days, it likely means that the ballot was not received.  Let me know and I can check with Margaret.  And always keep a copy of your scores because if she did not receive it, you will need to submit the whole thing it again.

******************************************
NOTE:  Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the show closes.  If you owe us a ballot, please get it in as soon as possible.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. It’s very long, and the reply will include the entire thing. Please send a new email to watchadjudication@gmail.com
  2. DO email me your reservation dates. Really, I want to know!
  3. DO search this entire report for your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.

Parking - Parking is on the street. Watch posted signs, as some areas have two hour parking limitations and some require payment. The Capital One Bank on the corner of Wilkes and Washington streets lets our patrons park in their lot when the bank is closed. Please note The Capital One Bank has extended their hours to include evening and weekend hours. Please make sure not to use their parking lot when they are open.

WATCH Weekly Report 03-12-25

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 03-12-25 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

We are in need of an alternate to see an upcoming show and also an alternate ballot for a closed show.  Please look through the report and let me know if you can cover either of these shows.

TIP OF THE WEEK:  Please make sure you enter your email address on the ballot and double check that it is entered correctly.  This is what Margaret uses to send you the confirmation of ballot receipt, and thus prevents a lot of bouncebacks, and ensures you know that your ballot has been received.

  4. If you go see a show that you were not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate. Try to keep the playbills for all shows you see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with all ballots received. Similarly, if you see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show, please let me know.
