WATCH Weekly Report 02-07-24

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 02-07-24 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

TIP OF THE WEEK:  It seems like projections are being used in more and more shows, and the lines between set design, set decoration and these are being blurred, leaving judges to wonder where the projections fit in.  Regardless of how they are used, for scoring purposes, projections should always be scored under Special Effects.  So, if you see projections in a show, make sure you are giving a score for Special Effects.  And if a Projection Designer is included in the program, their name should be listed for this category.  If the show also has other Special Effects, you will need to list those designers (assuming they are in the program) along with the Projection Designer(s) on the ballot, and give one score for the combined effort.

******************************************
NOTE:  Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the show closes.  If you owe us a ballot, please get it in as soon as possible.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. It’s very long, and the reply will include the entire thing. Please send a new email to watchadjudication@gmail.com
  2. DO email me your reservation dates. Really, I want to know!
  3. DO search this entire report for your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.
  4. If you go see a show that you were not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate. Try to keep the playbills for all shows you see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with all ballots received. Similarly, if you see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show, please let me know.

The new parking garage is located at the far end of Alice West Fleet Elementary School (115 S Old Glebe Rd) on the right. (For those that remember, the school was built on top of the old parking lot.) Please note there are two sharp turns.
Once in the garage, drive toward the back and to the left. You will see a big blue wall where the stairs and elevators are located. You can take either option.

Helpful tips:
- There is a difficult to see median as you pull into the top of the garage. If you hit this, you may harm your car. Please be aware of the median and enter the garage as slowly as possible!
- Please note that the reserved signs are reserved 24/7, please do not park there.
- Please note that The Arlington Players does not control the garage and we have been warned that the garage will lock when we are to be out of the building (11PM for evening shows).  If you do not get to your car by the appointed time and the doors lock, we will not be able to get you into the garage.
