WATCH Weekly Report 04-01-26

 ** WATCH Weekly Report 04-01-26 **
------------------------------------------------------------
To the WATCH Board, Judges, and Alternates:

[Apologies for the late posting to the blog site for anyone looking for this last week, but if you read below, you will know the reason.]

Despite the date, please be assured that none of what follows is a prank. 😊

Also, as you read this, I am blissfully ignorant of all things WATCH (among many other things) on a Caribbean cruise, purposely ignoring all emails.  So if you sent me your reservation information or submitted a ballot after 4:00pm last Friday but do not see it reflected in this report, don’t panic.  I just have not made any updates since then.  And please keep sending everything in.  I will catch up when I return to the real world.

TIP OF THE WEEK: With projections being used in more and more shows, the lines between set design, set decoration and these are being blurred, leaving judges to wonder where the projections fit in.  Regardless of how they are used, for scoring purposes, projections should always be scored under Special Effects.  So, if you see projections in a show, make sure you are giving a score for Special Effects.  And if a Projection Designer is included in the program, their name should be listed for this category.  If the show also has other Special Effects, you will need to list those designers (assuming they are in the program) along with the Projection Designer(s) on the ballot, and give one score for the combined effort.

*****************************************
NOTE: Balloting for a show closes 30 days after the show closes.  If you owe us a ballot, please get it in as soon as possible.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL.It’s very long, and the reply will include the entire thing. Please send a new email to watchadjudication@gmail.com
  2. DO email me your reservation dates.Really, I want to know!
  3. DO search this entire report for your name, including in the “Closed” section to see if you owe any ballots.
  4. If you go see a show that you were not assigned to see, please let me know in case we need an alternate.Try to keep the playbills for all shows you see at WATCH company theaters, at least until you see that it has closed with all ballots received.Similarly, if you see a note that an alternate is needed and you are available to see that show, please let me know.
